Whenever I work with large corporations, I get to use some cutting-edge software a platform that typical businesses can’t afford. One SEO software truly amazed me with BrightEdge. Most SEO people have not used BrightEdge because it is meant for very large websites and it is $10,000 per quarter to be able to use it. However, if you have worked with a large corporation especially a fortune 500 company the odds of you using it are high. In my opinion BrightEdge is the best SEO software that money can buy. It is SEMrush and Ahrefs on steroids. Now they have recently updated their platform and they are basically on a different level compared to any SEO software out there.
As a digital marketer and SEO person, I control and create tons of Google My Business profiles so my clients can be found one Google Maps. As of a couple of months ago I have had no problems with Google My Business and was a big supporter for businesses to get one and maintain them. Recently my tune has change. I have multiple businesses that I manage go under suspension out of no where and with no explanation. Naturally I contacted Google thinking this was a mistake, but Google My Business support informed me that they have no information and cannot help me, and they directed me to complete a GMB reinstatement request form.
When I was first learning about canonical tags, over ten years ago, I will admit that it is very confusing especially because at that time there was such little information about them. At first, I thought I would never us canonical tags because I didn’t plan to have duplicate content on my website or my client’s websites. But canonical tags are so much more than just tags you use to stop content duplication on your website it also helps with keyword cannibalization and similar content that is ranking for the same keyword. If you don’t do canonical tags correctly or at all it can confuse Google and hurt your rankings.
Recently, Moz has changed their Moz domain authority metrics to reflect more accurate information. This has brought up a topic that has been debated for many years by SEO experts and I have to say I don’t agree with Moz. I have been doing SEO for over 10 years and I don’t agree with Moz that “domain authority is not a metric used by Google in determining search rankings and has no effect on the SERPs”
